Can we still rekindle the European dream, in a time marked by Brexit, the rise of nationalisms, the revival of identity debates and economic protectionism?

Besides, how did we get to this point? What has happened for the past 25 years, since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the adoption of the Maastricht Treaty seemed to pave the way for the resolute construction of a community of values and a union constantly reinforced? Have we been overly confident in considering a full integration process already achieved? What has happened to this ideal of peace, tolerance, freedom, to the openness to the world and its economic prosperity? How is it that in half a century Europe has gone from utopia to counter-model?

This film is an investigation into the future of Europe. It takes us from Brussels to Warsaw and Budapest, the birth places of a populist euro-skepticism, to understand what is going on there, the blows to the rule of law principles, the carelessness of the political leaders who squander European funds in grotesque  projects, but also to hear the arguments of the opponents of the European Union.

Above all, it is also a call to action, a manifesto for us European citizens, so that we can once again move forward together towards a common destiny.
